Want iOS 4.3 Multitasking Gestures? [How To]

During the beta of iOS 4.3, Apple included some pretty cool gestures to switch between applications and bring up the multitasking menu. The official release of iOS 4.3 didn’t include this feature, below are the steps to re-enable these gestures on your iPad or iPad 2.

What you’ll need:

iPad or iPad 2

A Mac running OS 10.6.6 or later

$5

1) Open the Mac App Store and download the application Xcode from Apple Inc. ($4.99)

2) Plug your iPad into your mac using the 30-pin connector, and sync with iTunes, just in case something goes wrong.

3) Once the sync is done, launch Xcode.

4) Xcode will recognize the iPad, and a button will appear titling: “Use for Development” Click on that.

5) Skip all the pop-up prompts, unless you have a developer account, which is $99 / year.

6) That’s all there is to it. Now go to settings on your iPad, and in the general tab, there’s an option to turn on the multitasking gestures. Magic!
