OS X 10.7 Lion Release Soon?
Rumors have been floating around the Internets that an OS X 10.7 Lion Golden Master is coming very soon. It’s been a month since the developer preview of OS X Lion was released to developers. Apple has apparently worked out all the major problems with Lion, such as the Mac App Store distribution issues.
I have been using the original beta of OS X Lion for around a month now, and I can say that there aren’t any major issues with the OS. There is a little bug where I have something selected, press enter, and the item becomes un-selected as opposed to opening the file. I have a few ideas for improvements though. I would like to be able to drag applications from the LaunchPad directly onto the dock.
With Snow Leopard, Apple released the Golden Master to the devs just a couple weeks before the public release. If there weren’t any problems with the Golden Master, then there would be a similar timetable. Although, there will be problems, because it’s new software. My guess: still an early summer release. Sometime around WWDC, perhaps?
